Maria 'LA Chacha' Bermudez is a teacher, choreographer, and performer based in Santa Barbara, California. Her inclusive, thriving dance studio in the heart of downtown hosts classes for all ages.
During her three decade career she has exposed audiences across the world to the unique style and sound of Jerez de la Frontera, Spain — recognized as the birthplace of Flamenco — and the city where Maria resided for many years.

Maria has spent three decades performing throughout the world. Her outstanding and critically acclaimed performances have graced venues such as the Hollywood Bowl, Lope de Vega in Sevilla, Lincoln Center in New York, and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.
In Santa Barbara, she leads Maria Bermudez Performing Arts and serves as Artistic Director for Flamenco Santa Barbara.
Fiesta all year
Maria is grateful to be part of the Santa Barbara community and wishes all of you a warm “Viva La Fiesta!”
Students perform during Old Spanish Days Fiesta and throughout the year on stages throughout the city. For Maria, a native ‘Californiana’, working with the talent of Santa Barbara is a joy.
